Oleksandr Ovchynnykov successfully represented a Turkish father of a minor child removed illegally from Turkey to France by his mother in violation of the Turkish judicial decisions which provided the child custody to the father. Oleksandr first lodged an application with the French Central Authority who is discharging the duties imposed by the Convention of 25 October 1980 on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. Then he intervened voluntarily on behalf of the father in the judicial proceedings instituted by the public prosecutor before the competent judge. By a decision of 13 February 2018,the judge has granted almost the totality of the father’s claims. In particular, the judge has ordered the immediate return of the child on the Turkish territory. This decision has been successfully executed. The father and his daughter have returned to Turkey.
